ePhilanthropy Foundation Communications and Endorsement Policy

 "The ePhilanthropy Foundation Does Not endorse any companies, products or services"

 Resolution
Of The Board of Trustees of
The ePhilanthropy Foundation, Inc.

Whereas, it is the mission of the Organization to foster the use of the Internet for philanthropic purposes; and,

Whereas, the intended beneficiaries of the Organization's activities are non-profit organizations and their contributors; and,

Whereas, the Organization takes an official policy of not endorsing any company or organization purpose of promoting their services over another;

Whereas, the Organization resolves to be an active and vocal advocate of ePhilanthropy and the efficient and effective use of the Internet by nonprofit organizations to build relationships, enhance communication and raise philanthropic support,

Whereas, the Organization seeks to provide a workable mechanism to insure a balance between the Organizations role as an active and vocal advocate and the need to insure that proper statements and positions are used in communication with external constituencies;

Whereas, the Board, Trustees, Officers, Employees, Member or other Representatives of the Organization are encouraged to be active and vocal advocates of ePhilanthropy and the efficient and effective use of the Internet by nonprofit organizations to build relationships, enhance communication and raise philanthropic support, such advocacy, as a representative of the Foundation, will be in concert with official policies and positions of the ePhilanthropyFoundation.Org

Whereas, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees serve as chief official spokesperson of the organization, at such times when the Chairperson is not available, the President and CEO is authorized to serve as spokesperson, all press inquiries and other contacts should, as far as is practical be forwarded to one or both of the persons holding those positions,

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: That in any capacity representing 
the Organization, any Trustee, officer, employee, member or representative of the Organization may only state officially sanctioned positions and may not endorse any specific company's or organizations for the purpose of promoting their services over another. The President and CEO may request the Ethics/Advocacy and Affiliations Committee (voting in the majority) to 
provide official statements as needed, such statements may be further ratified by the Board of Trustees at a future meeting if needed, serving as officially sanctioned statements until such time any changes are made by the Board of Trustees. 

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: At times when it is not practical to seek an officially sanctioned position of the Organization, the spokesperson for the Organization may respond to questions and inquiries in such a manner as to reflect officially sanctioned positions of the Organization.
